Why Two Men Bought Blood From Students

Two patent medicine sellers,  Olusola Opeyemi, 23 and Adeagbo Olatunji, 35, accused of buying blood from students in Agege area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

The suspects, Olusola and Olatunji
The suspects were have been arrested by the police at Elere Station.
They were accused of collecting blood from students of Oyewole High School, Agege, paying them N1,000 - N1,500 each.
Investigations revealed that the blood collected from the students was sold to a middleman, Adetola Kayode, 48, for N7,000 per pint.
In its turn Kayode sold the blood to two men who claimed to be doctors at N11, 000 per pint.
Police identified the so-called doctors, Otokiti Ajibola, 53 and Ladunni Steven, 52, and arrested them .
A traditional chief, Chief Sanni Olayinka, the Asoju-Oba of Orile Agege, who narrated how the suspects were arrested disclosed that he was with the DPO of Elere Police Station, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Phillips Eze when the Oba of Agege phoned him to come to the palace immediately.
“When I got to the palace, I saw the arrested suspects with a large crowd. I quickly called the police to prevent the suspects from being lynched,” Olayinka disclosed.
The DPO of Elere Station declined to confirm the story, teachers and students at Oyewole High School also declined to comment on the matter for fear of being sanctioned.
A teacher who confirmed the incident, said the incident had been going on for a long time. Attempt to see the principal of the school also proved unsuccessful, as he was said to be attending a meeting

It has come to our notice that some unscrupulous rumour peddlers have chosen to malign Davido’s hard work ethic and reputation.
Davido has been on his European tour for a few weeks and landed in Budapest, Hungary on Friday June 21 for his Budapest stop. He was met with what is perhaps the worst case of unprofessionalism from a promoter in his career as a touring artiste. The promoter in this case is known as Mr Frank of BLACK DIAMOND ENTERTAINMENT. To the dismay of his management, the agreements on Davido’s ryder were not met despite assurances written and verbal that everything was set. Please note the following facts:
Against their agreement, Davido and his management were given a one bedroom suite to house them during their stay in Budapest.
The promoter had issues with the venue for the show. Up until the night of the performance, the venue had not been paid for and Davido’s management were informed that he might not be able to perform on the stage. This was finally sorted a few minutes to the show.
When it was finally time to perform, the promoter had not arranged for sound and Davido only managed the situation and decided to perform because of his fans that had paid to attend the concert. A fight broke out at the club and the promoters did not arrange any form of security for Davido, it was the intervention of the venue security guards that ensured that he got back to his hotel room in safety.
Davido and his management did not receive any direct payments from the said promoter. Infact the promoter is yet to pay up in full Davido’s performance fees as agreed.
Davido and his management team catered to their every need while in Budapest from their personal funds Davido’s management wishes to state distinctly and clearly that Davido was not at any point arrested in Budapest, Hungary. He is currently in Paris, France where he is set to perform on the 28th and the 29th of June.

Ritual Killers Sentenced To Death By Hanging

More states seem to be embracing the death by hanging penalty regardless of the pressure from civil society groups and the international community.

Justice Chukwuemeka Ohakwe of Owerri High Court on Tuesday sentenced seven persons to death for murder of one Okechukwu Osuji on May 11, 2001.
The offence was contrary to Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 30 Volume 11 laws of the Eastern Nigeria 1963 applicable to Imo State.
The condemned persons include Ejike Okoro, Cajetan Okoro, Rapheal Ike, Paul Njoku, Eric Igbo, Chidiebere Njoku and Anyanwuchukwu Unamba. Justice Ohakwe also discharged and acquitted the third, sixth and seventh accused persons (Uchenna Udeh, Ikechukwu Ukonu and Boniface Okoro) for lack of evidence.
In his judgment, the trial judge said: “From the evidence by the prosecution, there is no evidence except the confessional statement by the first accused person (Ejike Okoro) linking the third, sixth and seventh accused persons with the murder.”
According to him, the confessional statement of the first accused person was not binding on them and they were therefore discharged and acquitted. He said the prosecution had established the offence of murder of Okechukwu Osuji on May 11, 2001 against the first, second, third, fifth, eighth, ninth and tenth accused persons, stating that they had been found guilty of offence of murder. He therefore sentenced each of the accused persons to death by hanging.
Ohakwe said the prosecution had an overwhelming evidence that members of a secret cult killed the victim in a thick forest along Toronto-Egbu Road in Owerri North Local Government Area of the state on the fateful day and collected his brain for ritual purposes.
The accused persons who were caught by the police in an uncompleted building during their evil act all hail from Owalla Uratta in Owerri North Local Government Area.

Actress Laide Bakare, who has been enmeshed in a paternity mess with two men, has finally reacted to the claims by her estranged husband, Olumide Okunfulire, that she should submit her new baby for a DNA test to ascertain the true father of the new child.

Guy Rapes UNILAG Student and Shares Her Nude Photo

Policemen attached to Adeniji Adele division have arrested a 22-year-old man who alleged kidnapped and rapèd a student of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Akoka, for turning down his advances.
The suspect, Babajide Bashorun, was also alleged to have taken nudè shots of his victim (names withheld) and pasted them on the internet with her real name, school, department and age.
But the suspect in an interview with Vanguard claimed that the lady was his girlfriend. He admitted to have taken her nudè pictures and gave them to his friends whose identities he gave as Aje Mayowa and Babajide Ademuyiwa, both final year students of Architecture also of UNILAG.
The incident, as gathered, occurred two months ago at 1, Ajose Street, Enu-Owa area of Lagos Island. But the female undergraduate was silent over the matter until her relations abroad who stumbled on the nudè pictures on the internet contacted her mother in Nigeria, last week.
How it started
Narrating how the incident occurred, the female undergraduate said: “Babajide came to our house to treat our dog. In the process, he requested for my phone number and I reluctantly gave him. He started calling me and told me he would like to go out with me.
“But I told him I already had a boyfriend whom I loved. Yet, he kept calling me, saying he was not interested in just going out with me but wanted to marry me. Aside that, he kept monitoring my movements and at a point, I deleted his contact on my phone.
“I was returning home for a weekend in April , a car stopped by my side at Idumota bus-stop. Jide was sitting beside a driver who was unknown to me.
“On sighting him, I walked past. But the next thing he did was to hold me by the hand, dragged me into the car and drove to his house.
“When he got home, he started beating me and tore my clothes, asking what I wanted that he could not give me. He instructed me to unlock my phone and when he discovered that I used my boyfriend’s name as password, he resumed the beating.
“At a point, he gave me his phone to speak with some of his friends who told me I was in for trouble, for turning down a member of their unnamed cult, threatening that they would kill me for treating him shabbily.
“Thereafter, he rapèd me and when he was done, his friend took his turn despite my plea. When he saw I was bleeding, he stopped and started begging me. At that point, he brought out his phone and started taking my nudè pictures. I made attempt to cover my face but he hit me on the head with a bottle and continued taking the shots.
How I escaped
“I begged him to allow me call my mother to give him some by Browse to Save” style=”text-decoration: underline;”>money for my release but he refused. I also appealed to him to delete my pictures when he started begging me.
“I stayed in that room all night till the next day when he went out to get me some drugs. Immediately he stepped out, I tried the door and discovered it was not locked from outside. I quickly changed into one of my dirty clothes in my bag and escaped.
“But I could not tell anyone at home. When my elder brother asked what the problem was on seeing the blood stained clothes, I told him I was involved in an accident and when my mother insisted on knowing what the problem was, I told her I fought with a course mate. She insisted on going to school with me on seeing the magnitude of the injury but I prevented her.
“Barely had I settled down than Babjide called, threatening to kill me if I disclosed what happened to anyone. As if that was not enough, his friends also called and threatened me as well.”
She is my girlfriend — Suspect
However,on his part, Babjide claimed that the undergraduate was his girlfriend, adding that they only had a fight on that fateful day.
Expressing shock over his arrest, he said: “She is my girlfriend. We only fought in April and have resolved the matter.
“What led to the fight was her request for money to buy an IPad which cost over N100,000. Because of my love for her, I managed to raise N70,000. She visited me on that day and I advised her to change her way of living which included going to club .
I also accused her of flirting with other men. Along the line, we started fighting and I used a mop stick to hit her and in the process , took shots of her and sent the pictures to my friends. But I did not tell them to paste the pictures on the internet.”
Police sources hinted that efforts were on to arrest Mayowa and Ademuyiwa alleged to have pasted the victim’s nudè pictures on the internet, while Babajide had been charged to court for kidnapping, rapè, conspiracy, attempt to commit murder, indecent assault, and assault occasioning harm.

Mother Starves Her 4-Year-Old Son, Then Beats Him To Death

A mother accused of starving her four-year-old son before beating him to death was an aggressive drunk who threatened the boy's father with a knife, a court heard today.
Magdalena Luczak, 27, and her partner Mariusz Krezolek, 33, of Coventry, are accused of depriving Daniel Pelka, of food, force-feeding him salt and locking him in a home-made prison.
The toddler was so skinny he resembled a ‘concentration camp victim’ before he died from a head injury in March 2012, Birmingham Crown Court was told.
Daniel's biological father Eryk Pelka said he regularly found Luczak drunk while looking after their son, and the pair would regularly argue - with her lashing out by hitting him over the face.
He told the court she once threatened to stab him with a knife at a party, and he had to call the police. They met in Poland in 2004 then moved to Coventry a year later before Daniel was born.
But their relationship deteriorated and he eventually left Britain to return to his native Poland when Daniel was aged one. Mr Pelka said he had ‘fierce arguments’ with Luczak.
Speaking through a translator, he said: ‘They are only my thoughts but she was aggressive towards me. She was shouting and calling me names and she was trying to hit me as well.’
Mr Pelka said at a party in 2007 police had to be called after Luczak threatened him with a knife.
He said: ‘We were at the party together and we had been drinking together. We were arguing all the time and she grabbed a knife.
'I rang the police and the police came and arrested both of us because I was drunk as well. I was pushing her away.’
Mr Pelka said Luczak would ‘repeatedly’ slap him across the face. He said on two occasions he had to call into work and pretend to be sick because Luczak had not come home from a night out.
He also said he came home late from his job as a lorry driver on at least two occasions and found her drunk. He said: ‘She was drunk and Daniel was lying on his own and no-one was looking after him.’
The pair moved to Coventry in 2005 and shared various addresses before and after Daniel was born in December 2007.

Europe To Ban Men From Urinating While Standing!!

The local chapter of the Left Party, a socialist and feminist political party, in Sormland County Council, Sweden, is pushing to make standing while peeing illegal for men using the county council’s public restrooms.
Party officials are pushing to make public restrooms in the county council “sitting only.”
Supporters of the proposal say sitting while urinating is more hygienic and promotes sanitary restroom habit for male users.
It will help to eliminate the problem of puddles on the floor and spray stains on toilet seats.
They also argue that urinating while sitting will help to promote male health because it allows men to empty their bladder more effectively.
Sitting while urinating according to advocates will reduce prostate problems among men.
As a compromise, the party has proposed that some toilets could, in the interim, be designated exclusively for men who must remain standing while peeing.
The Left Party’s Viggo Hansen, who made the proposal, said that ultimately he wants office toilets in the council to be genderless and would thus like to see only “sit-down” toilets in county council offices.
He said that the move should not be seen as meddling in the bathroom habits of people.
He said: “That’s not what we’re doing. We want to give men the option of going into a clean toilet.” But proposals across Europe to enforce “sitting only” regulation in public toilets have been criticized.
Dr. John Gamel of Louisville University noted that the push to enact legislation banning men from standing while peeing in restrooms is spreading in Europe with feminists pushing similar legislation in Germany, France and Holland.
“The liberated women of France and Germany and Holland have vowed to put their men down – on the toilet. They carry placards showing a huge red X scrawled across a man standing to urinate.
They shout: “Laissez tomber votre pantalon, et asseyez vous! (Drop your trousers and sit)!”: “Behalte deine Tropfen fuer dich (Keep your drips to yourself)!”; “Toch niet weer een vieze plas op MIJN badkamer vloer (Not another filthy puddle on MY bathroom floor)!”
Gamel argues that legislation cannot force men to adopt more supposedly sanitary habits while peeing. He told The Huffington Post that the spray and spatter during “shake off” will not be prevented because “no man will want to shake off” while sitting on the toilet to avoid sticking the hand inside the toilet.
Gamel writes: “…most of the stray “sprinkles” that so enrage European women occur not during the act of urination itself, but immediately afterward, during a ritual men learn as part of their potty training. The various maneuvers required to discharge the urine remaining in the urethra.
A man who tucks away his penis without performing these maneuvers will dribble half an ounce of urine into his underwear, causing an embarrassing stain in the crotch of his trousers, or an even more embarrassing streak down his trouser leg.
To avoid this debacle, every sentient male, after every urination, carefully squeezes or “milks” his member to assure that no stray drops remain within the urethra. “Unfortunately, some men pursue this goal with excessive vigor, indulging in what can only be described as “shaking off the last drop.”
It is precisely these movements – and not the free-falling stream itself – that deposit most of the unwanted urine on lavatory floors throughout the world.”
“As a result, forcing men to sit while emptying their bladders will serve little purpose, since no man wants to shake himself off while remaining seated on the toilet.”

Developed by the British arm of global dairy company Arla, the new Man-Fur Coat is created from discarded male chest hair, according to food industry news blog The Grocer.
"We commissioned the Man-Fur Coat as a wakeup call for the nation's gents," a Wing-Co. spokesman said, according to The Grocer. "A way to encourage them to readopt the values of assured men's men from yesteryear."
The furry brown garment took four designers 200 hours to produce, according to the BBC. Hair for the coat was donated by 300 male volunteers, whose discarded chest hairs filled more than a dozen cardboard boxes.
The coat is apparently supposed to help promote Arla's new Wing-Co. chocolate dairy drink, a protein-rich beverage for the masculine set. Launched in April, Wing-Co. supposedly has 40 percent more protein than average chocolate milk, although it's still unclear what exactly protein-packed milk has to do with chest hair.
Customers who wish to see what all the hype is about can buy the garment for £2,499 (roughly $3,900), according to BuzzFeed.
It probably would match perfectly with this British bride's wedding dress, which was crafted out of human hair in 2011.

16-Year-Old Boy Murders 1-Year-Old Baby, Jailed 90 Years

A sixteen-year-old boy has been sentenced to 90 years in jail for shooting a 1-year-old child to death.
According to court prosecutors, On June 4 2012, the then 15-year-old gang member rode up on a bicycle to a family gathered outside a home in Watts. He drew a revolver and opened fire, killing 14-month-old Angel Mauro Cortez Vega and wounding his 21-year-old father, Mauro Cortez. Dokins, authorities say, mistakenly believed the father was a member of a rival gang because of the color of his T-shirt.
Donald Ray Dokins was charged as an adult and sentenced to 90 years life in prison. His brother, Derrick Washington told the court that his sibling was a straight-A student who wrote poetry. “He’s not a monster" he said, "He’s just a little boy.”
