In Abeokuta, landlord shoots tenant for dating his wife!!

A middle aged man, Waleed Oyatunde, native of Abeokuta, Ogun State, is presently recuperating from a gun shot wound after he was shot by his landlord over alleged love affair between him and the landlords wife.

The victim is said to be one of the many tenants of the landlord at Ketu Adie Owe area of Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

He was reported to have moved into Mr. Latunjis house about three years ago after he completed his youth service and got employment with an Agbara, Ogun State-based multinational company.

Sources disclosed that since Ireti, Latundes wife runs a canteen in Agbara, where Oyatunde works, the bachelor, always gave the landlords wife a ride in his car every morning.

Although he was doing this with the blessing and approval of the landlord, Latunji never knew that his wife and the tenant were already involved in amorous relationship.

Ireti is said to have been married to the landlord for six years but is yet to be blessed with the fruit of the womb.

However, trouble started in the Latunji family sometime in April, 2013 when it was reported that Oyatunde and Mrs. Latunji were dating. When news of the amorous relationship with his wife got to Mr. Latunji, he confronted his tenant with the rumour. According to neighbours, when Mr. Latunji confronted Oyatunde with the allegation that he was dating his wife, the matter almost degenerated into an exchange of fisticuffs between the landlord and his tenant until some elders in the area intervened.

From that day, it was gathered that the free ride stopped, even though the wife kept denying the allegations, to the extent of reporting the mater to her in-laws, who prevailed on her husband to put the allegations behind him.

The rumour never sieved, as the bachelor was always reportedly seen with his landlords wife at some hotels in parts of Lagos State, especially on weekends, but they were not so lucky on Saturday, July 20, 2013.

According to sources, Mrs. Latunji had informed her husband that she would be traveling with her friend to Ekiti State for a burial ceremony, adding that a day before that fateful Saturday, Mr. Latunji had reportedly called his wifes friend to confirm their purported movement to Ekiti, which the woman confirmed. But it later turned out that the Ekiti trip was a hoax after all.

The landlords wife left home early on Saturday morning for the purported weekend trip. Her suspicious husband hired three hoodlums to trail her movement. The three hoodlums rode on two motorcycles behind the bus the woman boarded from Lusada junction to Agbara.

The woman also boarded another bus from Agbara to Mile 2 area of Lagos State and the spies still rode behind the bus the woman boarded.

Eventually, Mrs. Latunji found her way to a hotel in Surulere area in the heart of Lagos State. Mr. Oyetundes car was also found in the parking lot of the hotel. The hired spies promptly informed their client on telephone of the development, the sources added.

Burning with rage, Latunji left home and headed for the hotel in Lagos, and on getting to the hotel, he told the receptionist he was on appointment with owner of the Hyundai car parked at the lot.

A worker at the hotel told Saturday Mirror that, When the man came that Saturday morning, he approached the boys at the reception that he wanted to see the owner of the car whose plate number he wrote for them.

When asked to call him on his mobile phone, the man claimed that the visitors mobile phone was switched off. So, the boys felt that he was a genuine visitor and one of them chose to take him to the room where the visitor lodged.
When the boy knocked on the door, the visitor came to open the door. And when he did, he was shocked to see his landlord standing right in front of the door.

The landlords wife was on the bed sleeping. That was when trouble started. Mr. Latunji forced his way into the room and aimed a stool at his wife.
But Oyatunde and the hotel attendant prevented Mr. Latunji from hitting his wife with the stool. The noise from the room soon attracted other workers of the hotel to the scene. After much persuasion, Mr. Latunji was whisked out of the hotel and he left for his house. Both Oyatunde and Ireti hurriedly left the hotel.

It was further gathered that the woman has not shown her face back home since then.

Oyatunde met his bad day on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 when he had gone to his apartment apparently to move his belongings out of the house.

That was the opportunity Latunji had been waiting for. Once Oyatunde opened the door to his apartment and started packing his property, Latunji burst into the apartment and engaged Oyatunde in a fight.
The brawling men were soon separated by neighbours, only for Latunji to rush into his apartment and emerge moments later with a loaded gun. He aimed at Oyatundes thigh and pulled the trigger, the source further stated.

The landlord could have killed the man. But we thank God that did not happen, the neighbour, said, adding that Oyatunde was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

The landlord has since fled his house with a 10-year-old son he had from another relationship.

Kayswitch To Leave His Brother D’Banj's DB Records

Celebrated entertainer DBanj might face the biggest crisis of his career thus far as his blood brother, Kayswitch, who is signed on to his record label, DB Records, is said to be seriously considering dumping him because he is fed up with how DBanj keeps projecting himself first .

The grapevine has it that Kayswitch is seriously considering becoming independent of his more acclaimed elder brother and mentor and striking out on his own to finally achieve the genuine music success he hasnt under DBanjs tutelage.
Kayswitchs dissatisfaction with the antics and strategies of the Dont Tell Me Nonsense singer, DBanj, is said to have come to the fore over their labels debut album, D Kings Men. Being a compilation album, DKM should have had the pictures of all DB Records artists on its jacket, but it is just DBanjs picture there.

The albums release itself is said to be another eye opener for Kayswitch as music pundits rate Kayswitchs songs on it over DBanjs.

Songs like For Example (Ka Ni Pe), Obimo and Show My Logo by Kayswitch are the most popular tracks on the album and it has led to people saying that if Kayswitch doesnt come out from under DBanjs shadow, he might be there forever.

Another sore point is that Kayswitch is yet to release his debut album and he is the only member of the defunct Mo Hits yet to do so. But when Entervaganza called DBanjs manager, Tony Nwakalor, on the phone so he could disclose the true situation in the DB Records camp, he didnt pick the phone.

Nollywood Actors & Actresses Who Have Turned Born Again Christians

Some Nollywood actors and actress who have had a fair share of the fast superstar life, and today profess to live for Christ.

Eucharia Anunobi
Probably, the most publicised conversion to Christ is that of Eucheria Anunobi. The actress fondly called UK by her friends has been the subject of various controversies and scandals, topmost of which bordered around her relationships, broken marriage and eventually her demand for her ex-husband to keep providing for the only son of their union, whom she has in her custody.

After many years of being in the news for all the wrong reasons, many were surprised when she announced she had given her life to Christ. Few months after the news broke, UK was ordained at the Fresh Oil Ministry, Egbeda, Lagos, as an evangelist.

The ordination was performed by Pastor Psalm Okpe, who anointed the top Nollywood actress, accompanied by other men of God. Some of her close colleagues like Susan Peters and Clarion Chukwurah were on hand to support their friend during the ceremony.

With her ordination, Eucharia can fully preach as a pastor. In fact, it is said that she already counsels youths in the church. This, however, has not taken away some of the traits that made her fans term her a bad girl before now. UK is still flashy. Just weeks after the ordination, she got a BMW X5. It is not clear if its a gift or a personal purchase.

UK has, however, vowed to use her fame to win souls for Christ. She also assured her teeming fans that she would not abandon her acting career, pointing out that she would be choosier in accepting roles in movies.

Ernest Asuzu
Do you remember Ernest Asuzu? The Imo State-born actor was the toast of movie lovers some years ago. He took on the role of the lover boy with great skills, and was indeed the ladies man in real life. But not long after, he disappeared from the radar. Before his withdrawal from the movie scene he was engulfed in scandals and controversies, which got him negative media attention.

During his hiatus, it was rumoured that he was down with mental illness while some even said he was dead. However, he resurfaced with a turn-around in more ways than one. In a chat, he told some reporters that the world rejected him, and he had to go back to Christ.

With this discovery, he underwent a period of rebranding and soul-searching, coming out strong as a gospel artiste. He now calls himself El Cream. With his new musical identity, he has released a music video for his single, Go Under. The new single is coming off his forthcoming album, Return of the Don.

Rita Nzelu
Not much has been heard much from this popular 90s actress for some time. Now, we hear that the former actress, who has been in the UK for over 10 years, has become a born-again Christian and has been ordained an evangelist in a UK-based Nigerian church. She is said to be very active in church, as she keeps posting invitation to churches on her social media handle.

She still acts in Nigerian movies shot in London.

Kanayo O. Kanayo
Veteran Nollywood actor, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo.O.Kanayo, is now a pastor. He has been preaching in some churches in recent times. He is mostly seen teaching the word of God at Christ Mission Worldwide Church, Egbeda.

Though he does not preach there regularly, it is said that the number of church members has grown since the day he first preached there.

That is not the only church he has ministered in at. His face has also graced banners and posters of other churches programmes. This recent development comes as a shock to some of his friends and colleagues who know him well.

There are allegations of nefarious activities that go on in his Surulere office. The place is described by some of his colleagues as a magnet for young girls.

Pat Attah
Where is Pat Attah? From what we gather, the once-upon-a-dreadlock-turned clean cut actor has left his life in the country behind. Pat, currently, is based in Hamburg, Germany and has turned a preacher. Though he does not preach in churches, he is now very much a born-again.

Many knew him before he left the country to be close to the ladies and in love with the bottle. Today, reading his posts online, one would know things have changed in his life. Pat often uses social network sites including Facebook to deliver his sermon and messages to all who care to read.

Zack Orji
Actor, Zack Orji, has been ordained a full-time evangelist by Bishop Emma Isong of Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI). In fact, the veteran actor has engaged in various evangelical activities in Abuja, Nasarawa and Makurdi with the church.

Zack has hardly been linked to any scandal. Only close friends know that he goes to a bar in National Stadium in Lagos, where he usually takes a particular brand of drink. Zack Orji is married to Ngozi Orji and they have three children.

Liz Benson
Elizabeth Benson, popularly known as Liz Benson, began acting when she was just a kid. Her journey to stardom began when she appeared on the set of the popular television soap opera, Fortunes, in 1993. Liz Benson played the part of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the soap, which ran for about two years on the Nigerian Television Authority network. After that, she acted in various TV series and many movies.

In 1994, her role in Glamour Girls, a very successful home video that focused prostitution as the theme, literally changed her fortunes.

The movie shot her into prominence and gradually she wormed her way into the heart of millions of Nigerian movie fans. As popularity came, so did media scrutiny. Several media reports linked her with different men and she was said to be dating some men in power.

However, after a quiet court ceremony in Abuja, she got married to a Bishop Great Emeya in 2009 at the Rainbow Christian Assembly in Warri, Delta State. She too was ordained an evangelist in the church.

Presently, she runs the church with her husband.

Peter Bunor
This veteran actor missed death by the whiskers last year. It took the intervention of the Delta State Government to keep him alive. The actor suffered a stroke that left him almost totally paralysed. Since he recovered, Peter has turned a new man.

In a chat with journalists, he said: All I can say now is to thank God that I am alive. I have also given my life to Jesus Christ as you can see that I am now a pastor.

The man is known to attend Winners Chapel.

Living in Bondage is believed by some sectors to be the film that brought Nollywood to where it is today. The man behind the movie, Kenneth Nnebue, owns Nek Videos.

After two decades of making a success of that two-part Igbo language movie, the pioneer producer disappeared into thin air. The last time he was spotted at a Nollywood function, was in 2009, where he was among the special guests that attended that years BOBTV, Africas premiere film and television programmes expo, which held in Abuja.

From what we hear, Nnebue has retired to evangelism. Close friends say he is very active in his church.

See The Reasons Why This Policewoman Wants To End Her 19 year Old Marriage

A 39-year-old female Inspector of Police, Mary Igah, had pleaded with an Igando Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve her 19-year marriage because of threats to her life.
She told the court that her husband, Emmanuel, who is also a policeman, threatened to deal with her, and that soon after that, she saw her pant and brassiere in his bag.

She said: My husband took my underwear without my consent. I saw my pant and brassiere in his hand bag when he wanted to leave for work. I am scared of staying with him, I no longer feel safe in his house.
Igah alleged that her husband was fond of disgracing her in public, including her place of work, saying, My husband always comes to embarrass me at my place of work. He will drag me out of my office with beatings, calling me a prostitute.
The respondent, 46-year-old Emmanuel Igah, who is also a police officer, denied the allegations levelled against him by his wife.

He alleged that his wife was promiscuous. I heard about my wifes infidelity, so I went to her office to find out and fortunately for me, I met her with the man. I did not embarrass her.
I only excused her outside and asked what she was doing with the man and she started shouting. I did not beat her. In short, I have never raised my hand against her since I married her 19 years ago, he said.
He begged the court not to grant his wifes wish because he still loved her. The court president, Mr. R.I. Adeyeri, adjourned the case to August14, 2013 for judgment.

BUSTED: Army Raids Boko Haram Hideout in Sokoto!!

The Boko Haram shelter at Gidan-Igwai area of Sokoto was raided on Saturday, August 10, 2013, by the Nigerian Army. The operation was carried out in order to curb the influx of the extremist sect members from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.

"The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing efforts to rid Sokoto state of the fleeing insurgents from the volatile states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa," Capt. Yahaya Musa, the Spokesperson of the 1 Brigade, Sokoto, has explained.

The operation, the authorities say, has been staged thanks to a hint given by the local residents, with Capt. Musa adding that the raid was "part of the routine operations of the Army to cleanse Nigeria of insurgency and other criminal activities."

"Sokoto is peaceful, unfortunately insurgents from other parts of the country are fast making it a safe haven and we are battle-ready to dislodge them.

"The operation by the army would be sustained and intensified just like our sister security organisations are also doing theirs, nationwide.

"I cannot however confirm any fatalities as at now but scores of arrests have been made whose details would be made available later," the spokesperson further said.

Capt. Musa expressed gratitude to the residents of the city for their usual support and cooperation, noting that the task of ensuring the security of lives and property of Nigerians is a collective one.

Eid-el-Fitri Tragedy: Teenage Boy Drowns At Bar Beach

An unidentified teenager drowned at the Bar Beach, Lagos as revellers celebrated Eid-el-fitri in the area on Friday.
photo
A fun seeker, who witnessed the incident and identified himself simply as Michael, said there was a heavy traffic of persons at the beach while there were only two live guards on duty.
It is usual in metropolitan cities like Lagos for residents to go to the beaches during important national celebrations, especially when holidays have been declared.
According to the witness, the teenage boy was spotted by a few people who were standing at the tip of the ocean.
He said three unidentified young men made frantic attempts to see if they could rescue the drowning boy, but they could not muster enough courage to move into the centre of the ocean.
He said the high waves of the surging ocean were too much for the volunteers, who eventually gave up the idea of saving the victim.
According to him, all the fun seekers around watched helplessly as the boy struggled and was finally submerged by water.
However, other fun seekers continued with their fun as if nothing had happened.
It was learnt that nobody came out to complain about a missing person before most of the fun seekers left the beach.
It was learnt that a young lady initially raised the alarm, believing erroneously that the victim was her brother, but she soon kept calm when she saw her own brother.
Spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed the tragedy on Friday, told Saturday PUNCH that the victim had not been identified.
“The body has been taken to the mortuary. It is just sad that this had to happen despite the warnings we issued that people should stay off the beach because of an impending ocean surge,” he said.
Farinloye said the warning issued by NEMA stated that there might be an ocean surge of a minimum of four days and maximum of five days, appealing to revellers to avoid swimming at the beach for some days.
“People are allowed to go to the beach but they should not swim. For some months, the ocean had been monitored and the warnings NEMA issued were consistent with the signs that were noticed, which showed that there might be an ocean surge,” he said.
